accessibility explained...

Genero web design, web design in Abingdon Oxfordshire.

At Genero Web Design we actively encourage and promote website accessibility and our goal is to make all of our websites as accessible as possible.

text Size

Wherever possible we use resizable fonts which allow the user to adjust the text size to suit their particular preference. This can be done manually by clicking on view (at the top of the browser window) and then choosing the appropirate text size from the dropdown menu.

images

Any images that we use in our websites also contain alt or alternative text. This alt text will describe what the image shows whilst it downloads and will also allow screen readers to describe the image to blind or partially sighted users.

tables

Tables are used by some designers to organize the layout of each web page. Genero will only use tables for displaying data and not for page structure, this allows pages to download faster and makes them more accessible to screen readers.

browser compatability

All of our websites are tested using Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera web browsers to ensure the users experience is consistent regardless of the web browser of choice
